AC/DC AC/DC AC/DC

once upon a time, many Thunderstrucks ago.

I picked up a guitar and within a few months I learnt that haunting opening riff - Thunderstruck

and boy oh boy was i hooked, like a kid who discovered candy.

Slowly I started learning the great riffs of Highway To hell, Back In Black, T.N.T.

adn after one week I had learnt how to play the entirerty of Highway To Hell, and man was that such a great achievement

wasnt polished, wasnt neat, the solo sound like ducks fucking underwater, but I RTFO and pretended like it was River Plate.

Then all of a sudden I was playing Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, You SHook Me all night long, and many others.

then one day sitting on my ass, playing some Grand Theft Auto 5, headphones on. "hm what should I listen to now?' I pondered.

RIDIN DOWN THE HIGHWAY

the first song (Its along way To The Top) from High Voltage starts playing, then The Razors Edge, then Back In Black, then Highway To Hell.

days later I recieved my first CD, High Volatge, Highway To Hell and The Razors Edge.

then over time i learnt all the facts, listened to all the songs until..

Theirs no end! I wake up ACDC, i go to sleep. ACDC. I shower. ACDC. School work. ACDC. actual work. ACDC. Guitar... ACDC

this band is the best band alive and im greatful for everything that theyve given us, as these last few dates of (most likely) forever approach. Get tickets. See them. then be happy!

What made you like them: The history, music, and the boys being down to earth.
Have you seen them live: Yes.
Whats your first song you listened to: Back in Black, and the first Bon song I heard was Gone Shootin'.
Favourite album: Let There Be Rock
And have you seen them live on this tour: Yes. I saw them in Columbus, Ohio.

Wow, is that the only time youve seen them l8ve or have you seen them on other tours?
 
What made you like them: Bon first got my attention. He’s magnetic.
Long Way To The Top and High Voltage music videos got me properly into DC. I still play the Family Jewels DVD nonstop.
I love how they’re all no-bullshit, down-to-earth and jeans and t-shirts.
It helps they all look amazing too 😍

Which decade or period of the band? I personally think Angus and Mal were at a slight advantage since George helped them with mixing/production in the studio. The band not having a large budget back then is another one, but that's what makes the earlier albums special. Bon coming in too early for IALWTTT or messing the order up of the lyrics to LTBR. Then there's the 80s with FOTS not being as successful, having to compete with Thrash and Hair Metal, and Mal's rehab. I could go on!

1973-74 Dave Evans was always showing up drunk and late for rehearsals.

in 74?? The bands gear got stolen (thats the story before IALWTTT)

1974. ACDC is the slang for Bisexual/gay

1974. Multiple wardrobes changes with Angus (Countdown days)
1974. Multiple different drummers and bassists (The band were a four piece for a bit. Paul Matters didn't last long. George and Malcolm sometimes played bass)

1975. Angus receives backlash for the jack strip (There is a story where Angus stripped completely but that was from one source. Strange...)

in 75? the band tried touring UK and it didn't end up nicely

in 1976 Atlantic blocked DDDDC in America

1977. Mark Evans fired (Didn't get along with Angus after awhile)

in 1977 breakthrough in UK

1978? Performance for KISS giving the band more popularity in America

1979. Major World tour and breakthrough (Especially in the United States)

1980. Bon died (Boys wanted to call it quits, but Isa Scott made them think otherwise)

1980. the hardship of recording BIB (as constant hurricanes, and the hells bells bell needed to be built) (Recorded in the Bahamas)

1981 FTATR seen as a shit follow up album but... also one of the best follow up albums at the time (Atlantic blocking DD messed with FTATR since they didn't release it until 1981. So the band had to play songs from that album which would've been distracting from the latest LP) (Also the Satanic Panic in the United States)

1983. First recordings of band's first self produced album

1983. Phil got into a fight with Mal

1983. Bye Bye Phil (Phil had a farm back in the early 90s by the way)

1983. Mal needed a break from the band so a delayed release (Around 1984, Malcolm fell on stage)

1983. Cliff and Brian Partially left for a bit (unknown as to why or how long)

1983. FOTS seemed as the worst possible album at the time, marking the bands downfall

1985. The band were at an all time low in sales and almost out of the list due to Metallica, Michael Jackson, Thrash, Hair Metal and etc.

1986. comeback with WMW as a single and used in Maximum Overdrive

1988. Huge comeback with BUYV, giving the band back the spotlight.

1988. Mal enters rehab for his alcohol addiction (Stevie took over for a bit)

1990. Simon Wright leaves for Dio

1990. Brian goes through a messy divorce

1990. Mal and Ang take over songwriting (Mal wrote RE while in rehab)

1990. TRE release putting the band back into superstar stardom (the BIB of the 90s)

1991. Fans killed at a gig

1993. Big Gun released (The Last Action Hero was a flop, though, but Big Gun was still a success)

1994. Chris Slade leaves (Because of Phil and technically Malcolm)

1995. The band shift intro a drier and bluesier raw sound, marking BB as a a start of "not bad but not good"

2000. SUL becomes the biggest tour at the time for the band

2000-2008 pretty much nothing (Nothing? Rolling Stones "crossover," Circus Krone, and Iron Man/Walmart promotion)

2008. Over 30 songs recorded/Demo

2009 River Plate/ BI tour biggest tour ever for the band

2010. The band receives backlash for Angus still doing the Jack strip

2011? Phil arrested for attempt of murder/ drug possession (Phil's place didn't last long) (Hitman case was around the release of Head Job 2014) (While 2011 was about Phil's drug use)

2014 Mal officially steps away from ACDC (Dementia unfortunately advanced)

2014 ROB tour with Chris Slade (Slade eventually had a stroke which affected his playing)

2016. Brian forced into a temporary retirement due to hearing loss (Also thought of ending it)

2017. George and Malcolm die within a few weeks

2018. Possible album rumors

2019. PU demos leaked

2020. PU released

2023. Power trip (Cliff's last appearance live with the band)

2024. PU Europe Tour

2025. PU World Tour

2026. Ticket sales bad for NA (Inflation, rising costs, people's SNAP benefits and Medicaid being cut, and "blue dot fever")

Brief summary of everything i can remember my years might be a bit wrong though. (Thanks Deklan)

And not getting the airplay they deserved in the 70s
And then losing Bon...
Then Phil’s struggles, and Mal’s...
By the 80s they were doing 150+ gigs a year!! Brutal touring schedule, just brutal
I feel like they achieved the impossible 💙
